      Hi Aliii

      I learned this this morning from my colleague Francesca – every day’s a school day.

      There are chemicals in your iris that are blue in the absence of any light. The womb is a dark environment so these chemicals stay blue.

      When these chemicals are exposed to sunlight they turn can brown (in exactly the same process as when your skin tans.
