I love science because it gives you reasonable explanation to questions, mostly based on facts and sometimes on assumptions. It is practical and reliable, it’s very comforting being a scientist! I am always very very happy when our work is mentioned by other scientist and certainly it is very rewarding when your work is used by others (they do your same experiments) to advance their own research. It makes it all worth it.

      Hi Aoife,

I love finding out new things and applying what I learn to ask new questions.

Like Francesca, I also love talking to others in the area about it and seeing how what I’ve done is used by others in quite different fields.

Having answers to excellent questions, like the ones you guys ask is very important to me and hugely satisfying that I can know or work out the answer. I hope the idea of having that skill appeals to you!
